The Myth of
04:08
|

A sisyphean effort
Weighs down my waking dream
I think I’ve learned to love it
I think it makes me scream
And I know it’s not all bad but that doesn’t make it alright
How in the hell did things get like this?
It seems time takes it’s toll, no matter what is said
This climb feels impossible
The rock keeps moving up while I just start again
Linen and gypsum surrounding me in bed
With fuck all happenin’ watchin’ and listenin’
Waiting on a flicker to heal my sins instant
Nothing but silence
The pain of what coulda been rings loud in my ears
And it steals away all the life from this present moment
We pushed that rock up every time it rolled down the hill
Our best was tried and tried again
Hard to believe you’d doubt my intention or sincerity
It was real and there’s no amount of nonsense
That can overwrite that truth
And to think that this could have been talked out
But you’d rather retcon our time
With a manufactured line

the Whiter Side of Grey
03:06
|
|||
All that’s seen is black and white
With no shades of grey to guide
A fading fantasy
Clinging onto tragedy
Abusing authority
Don’t wanna be right here
If I can’t hold my head up high
It’s time to walk away and say goodbye
To the whiter side of grey
Don’t let the powder keg explode
Or eggshells break on the floor
The hardest lesson to learn
That nothing is guaranteed
No matter what you choose to believe
Don’t wanna see this fire ignite
It’ll burn us all alive
It’s time to walk away and say goodbye
To the whiter side of grey
The road to hell
Is paved damn well
With the very best intentions
What happened to the benefit of doubt?
Please don’t hold this over me
Please don’t hold this over me
Please don’t hold this over me
When you can’t even meet your standards
I said what was wrong
And agreed to move along
What a convenient thing to forget
